The idea of restaurant grading in Abu Dhabi is an attractive venture for potential investors willing to finance a start-up, given the lack of competition and the demand for the service. Due to the growing number of restaurants and the diminishing number of qualified personnel, food handling in UAE is deteriorating. The idea of this venture is to provide ratings in the form of awarding a star for restaurants, which excel in food handling and sanitation. The significant parameters under inspection are; food handling, food temperature, personnel’s hygiene, and vermin control. The untrained personnel fails to keep up with industry standards on food handling, leading to contamination. Due to the lack of credible grading companies and the health department’s concerns with food contamination, the company would speak with the department to make the grading a statutory requirement for licensing of restaurants. There is no notable competition in the industry in Abu Dhabi. However, the business will be protected from competition by contracting the local health department to adopt the grading from our company as a statutory requirement for licensing restaurants.
