The case discusses the largest telecommunication company in the United Arab Emirates (Etisalat) employee engagement strategy and operational excellence initiatives. The telecom company achieved the Innovation in Employee Engagement Award during the recent Human Resource Summit in Dubai, whereas new research discovered that 91 percent of employees are pleased to work with Etisalat and 85 percent state an increased level of Job Satisfaction. Employee’s motivation levels are ascending as the company provides incentives like an expense paid trip to Japan for a week for the ‘Breakthrough Outstanding Project Contributors’. Still, employee engagement is not only because of the rewards that employees get from Etisalat, but a reasoned strategical approach according to the company’s requirements is also a significant reason for increased employee engagement. Etisalat keeps challenging itself to discover the latest and innovative methods to keep the employees engaged in operational excellence. Despite the current market situations, Etisalat modified its engagement model according to the most used ‘Five Essential Elements of Well-being’, physical, social, community well-being, financial, and career. It depicts that the wellness program is becoming more comprehensive.
