The case discusses the largest retailing store in the United Arab Emirates (Carrefour’s) logistics and distribution systems. Carrefour’s automatic distribution centers, which keep functioning 24/7 and are supplied by Carrefour’s truck fleet, are the base of its development strategy and supply-chain management. In the United Arab Emirates alone, Carrefour has 100 regional distribution centers for domestic flow. The organization recruits only expert drivers who can drive for more than 250,000 miles, which are also accident-free, and those who can be trusted for providing dedicated customer service. Carrefour’s retail stores are known as significant customers of the distribution units. Drivers get a copy of the ‘Private Fleet Driver Handbook’ is provided to every driver, which states that drivers should be kind and polite while dealing with the store crew members and others, and drivers are expected to behave in a certain way according to this book. Carrefour gets outcomes unequaled in the logistics platform by efficiently handling every facet of its transport activities and fairly handling the drivers. Rule and regulations are essential for maintaining consistency, which helps prepare and execute the functions correctly.
